Meet The Maker: Shivank Kumar & Vipul Dalmia – Rejuvenating Ubtan

After experimenting with numerous skincare remedies yielded no results for Vipul Dalmiya, he decided to take matters into his own hands and founded Rejuvenating Ubtan along with Shivank Kumar. Vipul talks to us about his journey.

“Since the beginning, I had very sensitive skin. To treat it, I tried almost every remedy. From Allopathic skin treatments (despite being aware of their harmful side effects and promise of nothing more than temporary relief) to various herbal products available in the market at that time, nothing worked. And when I looked around, I found other men and women grappling with the same challenges. This made me think about how to solve the problem and drove me to look for an effective solution. A luxury experience elevated by the beauty of simplicity.

Where are you located?

We are based in New Delhi.

What were you doing before you started doing this?

I (Vipul) have been a part of corporate world for the past 6 years.

Why did you choose to do what you do?

We are fascinated by names. What’s the story behind your brand name?

The main idea behind choosing such a name is that the customer can relate to it in more ways than one. To begin with, they can connect with the Indian-ness of it (Ubtan) and, then, easily understand the main benefit it offers (Rejuvenation).

Which are your best selling products?

Although it is tough to answer this question, I will try. Each of our products fulfils a personal need and treats different forms of skin-related issues. They are all liked by different kinds of customers. Nonetheless, here are our top three sellers: Grains & Spices Body Scrub, Coconurish Face Scrub, and Rose & Sandalwood Face Pack.

What kind of people do you create your products for?

We believe that people are moving towards natural remedies and have started accepting the ideas that were propounded by our ancestors thousands of years ago. In many ancient Ayurvedic scriptures, you will discover the immense power of pure remedies. Our products are for people who are evolved enough to appreciate the benefits of pure, natural, and paraben-free cosmetic remedies.

What are the challenges you face in connection with achieving your goals? 

Our mission is to create and maintain a stringent quality benchmark and deliver total customer satisfaction. To make this happen, we work hard to carefully source the perfect ingredients from around India and ensure there is no compromise when it comes to excellence. Doing this is a daily challenge that motivates us and drives Rejuvenating Ubtan.

Where do you see your brand three years from now?

We can see that people are moving toward a culture of holistic wellness. We believe there is a huge potential for ethical growth l in this space. We know that people prefer organic, chemical-free products that are good for the skin and the environment. Our mission is to be at the forefront of ethical consumption for holistic personal care and deep wellness.

What would you be doing if you weren’t doing this?

I believe that I would be sitting inside a beautiful glass building in front of my laptop and performing the same task that I was doing prior to this, while waiting to complete my 9-hour shift for the day. I’m so glad I’m not doing that (smiles).
